Do you know why !!! 4 minutes of earth rotation doesn't make 12 midnight becoming 12 noon

 FACT OF EARTH ROTATION ON ITS ORBIT

Earth rotate in its axis in about 23 hours and 56 minutes & 4 second is Sidereal Day but the solar day is 24 hours. This 4 minutes’ gap makes 12 hours gap in 6 months. It means after 6 months; 12:00 am night becomes 12:00 pm day but it never happens do you know why ?

Earth doing 1 orbit on 360 degrees’ rotation on its axis, in 23 hours and 56 minutes and 4 seconds, this is known as the sidereal day.

In normal clock, the 24-hour day is known as the solar day.

But you know Earth also rotates around sun also & it rotates in about 365.25 days, which means if Earth does not rotate on its axis then also it complete 1 day after 1 rotation around sun. We can say 1 day will become 1-year long.

Earth Rotates on its axis as well as around the Sun So it completed 360 ⁰ in 1 days & 360 ⁰ in 1 year or we can say it is doing 361⁰ in 1 day & that 1 extra Degree counts 4 minutes

   That is why 1 day becomes 24 hours long.

Let’s Understand Some Definitions

Sidereal Day – 1 sidereal day is 23 hour 56 minutes 4 seconds   = 86164 seconds   long

Sidereal Year – 1 sidereal year is 366.25 days’ long

Solar Day      -  1 solar day is 24 hours’ long

Solar Year      - 1 Solar year is 365.25 days’ long

 

 

Let’s see mathematically –

Sidereal Day        - 23 hour 56 minutes 4 seconds   = 86164 seconds

Sidereal Days X Sidereal Year                               = 86164 X 366.25 = 31557565 seconds

Sidereal Seconds / Solar Year                               = 31557565 / 365.25 = 86400 seconds

 

Convert 86400 seconds in hours = 86400/3600 = 24 hours
